The gateway to Stikin River that offers great fishing, Wrangell is a small town with a few thousand people. There is variety of streams, lakes and ponds filled salmon, cutthroat trout and dolly varden char. When you arrive there, arrange a fishing trip with one of the fishing boats. You can learn how to fly fish with flyfishing poles, hand tied flies, spin-cast rods, reel and hooks! If that's too extreme, enjoy the classic rod and reel from the jetty or boat.
Most of the fishing trips occur from mid-June through to the end of September. Float jackets are provided your warmth, comfort and safety. Usually within an hour's travel time you will be fishing. Most of the streams that they fish in do not require any walking into, so you'll jet boat right to them.
All fish can be caught and released or frozen for the trip home. Fish cleaning and freezing for shipping is provided.
